Who is DOUN'S ?
I’ll not bother you my resume and CV, so go on LinkedIn if you are curious. I’m Elie Sadoun, and I’m crazy about food, grub, cuisine, cookery, victual, whatever you want to call it, the important thing is that you understand me. Here is the summary of four years of cooking that began around the age of 15, when my mother, working at a frantic pace, no longer had time to prepare me to eat. It was necessary to fill this gap because she is an incredible cook, so I decided to learn. In addition, I have always been "bon vivant" and although this expression often goes with grease cuisine, I know how to cook healthy. However, I like the plates to be full and the guests too. My cuisine is home cooking and I try to make it as refined and aesthetic as possible since I like to think that we eat first with the eyes.
How does it works ?
It’s very simple! Every Tuesday and Friday, a recipe will be posted on the blog. Subscribe to the website to receive the e-mail following each new post! If you want to make a dinner, I advise you to use several recipes from the same category to form a full table, or find inspiration in the photo gallery. Each page has a particular meaning, and I took the initiative to do an inspiration page because I think that to better understand something, it must be accompanied by its context. The Instagram accounts that I follow, the chefs that I like, as well as my personal history and tastes are the context for each of the recipes on this site. My goal is not that you follow my recipes strictly, but that you understand their plot and their logic to grasp the deep meaning of them, and then change my cuisine and make it something better. Why did I do DOUN'S ?
Originally, this website was only intended to develop my web design skills. I had not yet created a blog-like page, I was loving and am still loving cooking, and had a phone full of hundreds of photos of dishes and preparations that were either for me or to send around. So it made sense for me to do a food blog. I am a perfectionist in nature and the more I went through the development of DOUN’S, the more I invested time in it and wanted to make it something useful for everyone. This website is for all lovers of good food who like to enjoy life and who like to do things well. Whether you are a student, a mother, a young man who wants to impress his girlfriend, you will find here recipes for all tastes and that are basically not complicated to achieve, even if you have little experience. I cook every day so if I can make you enjoy it, everyone wins!
